The 20th century to

Today

The 1920's brought Flapper era into play.  The woman silhouette

catered to the naturally slender, but a larger woman could achieve the

fashionable appearance with a light corset and bandeau. In the 1930's,

the corset was finally knocked out of style in favor of the elastic

undergarments.

In the late 20th century, corsets still found its way in fashion as

a outwear.Madonna made them popular in the 80's. But towards

beginning in the mid-century, corsets became associated with fetish

wear because of  the bra taking its place for daily function. You can still

find corsets today but the need for a corset is no more.
